an encounter with
Territorio Doméstico

During this weekend we host the Madrid-based domestic worker's group Territorio Doméstico, a collective of mostly migrant women working in private homes. Territorio Doméstico has been a powerful voice in defending the rights of domestic workers and a key reference for creative and community-based methodologies of organising.
On saturday three members of the group will present their work and history, followed by a discussion to which the Swiss-based domestic worker's platform Respekt@vpod as well as members of the 'Keine Hausarbeiterin ist Illegal' (No Domestic Worker is Illegal) Campaign will also contribute. Then, after an hours break with buffet, there will be a methodological workshop in which Territorio Doméstico share their organising tools, notably the „domestic worker's catwalk“, a format that seeks to visibilise a set of situations and demands of domestic workers.
On sunday there will be a networking and exchange picnic, bringing together individuals and groups engaged in work and struggles around care. Be welcome to come and share your experiences and struggles around domestic work, this will happen informally by the lake.

Durante este fin de semana recibiremos a Territorio Doméstico!
Terriorio Doméstico es un colectivo mayoritariamente de trabajadoras domésticas con diversas experiencias migratorias, que trabajan en casas particulares. Territorio, ha sido una de las experiencias mas ricas en torno a la visibilización y revindicación del trabajo doméstico como tal, asi como también un referente en metodologías creativas y empoderantes de organización colectiva. Tres de sus miembros nos presentarán la historia del grupo, asi como también sus inventivos métodos.
El sabado 12 de julio tendrá lugar la presentación del colectivo, mostrando su trabajo y trayectoria, acompañado por una discusión en la que dos iniciativas Suizas participarán: la Plataforma de Trabajadoras Domesticas 'respekt@vpod' y la campaña 'Keine Hausarbeiterin ist Illegal' (Ninguna Trabajadora Doméstica es Illegal). Después de esto habrá una pausa con buffet y a las 19h el Grupo Territorio Doméstico mostrará su dispositivo-creativo: 'pasarela de trabajadoras domésticas' en un performance-taller. ‘La pasarela’ es una metodología desarrollada por el grupo para visibilizar distintas situaciones y revindicaciones de las trabajadoras domésticas.
El domingo 13 de julio tendrá lugar un picnic de networking cuyo objetivo es compartir experiencias y discutir estrategias de organización en el ámbito de los cuidados y del hogar. Personas y grupos implicados en esta área de trabajo y lucha se encontrarán en un picnic informal. Si estás involucrada en este área, pásate! – estaremos fuera de la Shedhalle, frente al lago, en caso de hacer buen tiempo.
